Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork

Refine how your body feels and functions

Massage Offerings

Your session is never one dimensional. Each massage flows intuitively using a combination of techniques to create bodywork that is both effective and restorative.

  • Rather than following one fixed style of massage, sessions are designed to adapt naturally throughout the treatment using a thoughtful blend of techniques based on how your body responds in the moment.

  • A classic therapeutic massage using flowing gliding, kneading, and rhythmic percussion techniques to encourage relaxation and ease muscle tension.

  • A therapeutic form of bodywork focused on relieving chronic pain patterns within the body. Sessions may incorporate techniques such as trigger point therapy and neuromuscular work to address stress patterns, postural imbalances, and lingering discomfort while supporting overall movement and function.

  • Mindful expressionism is an advanced technical and manipulative aspect of the work includes a blend of Structural and/or Normalization of Soft Tissue Techniques, NMT and Trigger Point, and traditional Asian style bodywork…all delivered in a beautiful fluid, non-static package of creative and artistic flow. There is a concentrated practice of NON-THINKING, and simply allowing.

  • A gentle yet effective therapy focused on relieving restriction within the body’s connective tissue system. Through slow, sustained stretching techniques, tension within the fascia is released to reduce pain, improve mobility, and restore balance throughout the body.

  • A nurturing treatment designed to support the changing needs of the body during pregnancy. Gentle, supportive techniques help relieve tension, reduce discomfort, improve circulation, and encourage relaxation for both mother and baby.

  • A traditional technique rooted in Chinese medicine that uses smooth tools and gentle scraping methods to stimulate circulation, release tension, and support the body’s natural healing response. This treatment may leave temporary redness or light marking as blood flow is encouraged to targeted areas.

  • Technique designed to soften and mobilize scar tissue, helping to improve flexibility, circulation, comfort, and overall tissue healing.

  • Specialized massage therapy thoughtfully adapted to support the unique needs of individuals undergoing or recovering from cancer treatment, with a gentle focus on relaxation, comfort, and overall wellbeing.

About

The Body Edit was founded by Amanda Michalik, a licensed massage therapist whose work is rooted in intentional, personalized care. Built on the belief that even subtle changes in the body can improve movement, function, and support a stronger mind-body connection. The Body Edit reflects Amanda’s intuitive approach to bodywork and the belief that stress and tension can impact overall wellness.

Amanda discovered her passion for bodywork while backpacking through Central America, where the physical demands of constant travel introduced her to the restorative impact of therapeutic massage. The experience resonated immediately, and she knew that helping people feel better in their bodies was the work she wanted to pursue professionally.

She later attended the Costa Rica School of Massage Therapy in 2011 and continued her training through an apprenticeship at the Berkana Institute in Denver.

Over the years, Amanda has developed an approach that balances therapeutic precision with an intuitive understanding of how stress, tension, movement patterns, and lifestyle demands affect the body. Her sessions are designed to evolve naturally in response to what the body needs in the moment while supporting recovery, function, and overall well being.

When she’s not in the studio, Amanda can usually be found with her family, spending time outdoors, combing the beach, and enjoying the Rhode Island coast.
